Internet Connection Wizard 4

There are a few different ways to start the Internet Connection Wizard:

Method 1: Click the Start button and select Run. Enter inetwiz and click OK.

Method 2: Open the Control Panel and double click the Internet Options icon. Click the Connection tab and click the Connect button.

Note: If you do not see a Connect button, but you do see a Setup button, you probably have the Internet Connection Wizard 5 installed. Click here for instructions.

When the Internet Connection Wizard starts, choose the option I have an existing Internet account through my phone line or a local area network (LAN). Click Next.

Choose Select this option if you are accessing the Internet using an Internet service provider or a local area network (LAN). Click Next.

Select Connect using my phone line and click Next.

Uncheck Dial using the area code and country code, and enter your Local Access Number into the Telephone Number field. Click Next.

The number should be entered exactly as it needs to be dialed. For example, if you need to dial the area code enter the number as XXX XXX-XXXX, or if you need to dial 9 to get an outside line enter the number as 9, XXX-XXXX. Dashes (-) and spaces are not required.

Enter your dialup username and password into the appropriate fields, and click Next.

You should not need to change the Advanced Settings. Select No and click Next.

Enter PowerNet Internet for the Connection name and click Next.

If you would like the Internet Connection Wizard to set up your email in Outlook Express, Select Yes and click Next.

Note: Select No if you plan on using a different email client, or if your email is already setup, and click Next.

Enter your name into the Display Name field, this is how it will appear when you send mail. Click Next.

Enter your email address and click Next.

Select POP3 for the Incoming mail server type. Enter your PowerNet Internet mail servers into the Incoming mail and Outgoing mail server boxes. Click here for the list of PowerNet Internet Mail servers.

Enter your email username and password into the POP account Name and Password fields. Click Next.

The Friendly Name should already show the mail server name. Click Next.

Select No when prompted to setup an Internet News Account. Click Next.

Select No when prompted to setup an Internet Directory Service.

Click Finish to complete the wizard.
